‘Little by little, piece by piece,’ is the motto for community project driven company, Piece.

This exquisitely South African company brings skills passed on by oral tradition from all over the country including Kwazulu Natal and as far a field as Namibia. Often beading is considered a skill for survival but the owners of Piece are trying to change this perception. They have successfully marketed beading as a skill of value, something sort after by the rich, ensuring that these precious skills are not lost. Locals now showcase their talent, boosting self esteem and giving them an opportunity to earn a living.

Seen on the runway at the design Indaba, each piece can be marveled at for hours, with their indisputable wow factor.

If you have the guts to start out in the crowd visit www.piece.co.za to see more show stopping pieces.
